Human Intelligence

We all take animals to be creatures with no brains, but have sat to think for a while whether this is true or not. Humans have a characteristic of naming people according to what they perceive an animal by. If a person is cruel and bloodthirsty, he may be nicknamed as being “as bloodthirsty as a tiger”. This is actually a misnomer.

A tiger is neither bloodthirsty nor is he a murder like some humans are. In fact, it is the natural characteristic of a tiger to kill other an animals to satiate his hunger and mind you, none of it goes to waste which is not the case with humans.

All animals have brains. If they didn’t then they would not have the means of doing their natural activities to sustain themselves. There brains evolve over time and they learn how to fend for themselves. They are taught by their parents how to do so, till they are capable of standing on their own two or four feet.

In fact they learn faster than humans do which is generally from a year to four years depending on what kind of animal they are. On the other hand, a human to be able to comprehend his environment, takes him nearly eighteen full years, and yet still most humans live under the shadows for a longer period of time. This is not the case with most male mammals. They are shunned away from the protective custody of their parents which is usually the mother to fend for themselves.

Animals only learn to survive on the planet and that is sufficient for them to live a proper life and they do not think that there is any necessary for change as with change comes the destruction of their milieu. This is not the case with humans on the other hand. Human’s intelligence keeps on evolving and with this increase in intelligence he causes his environment to change as well not auguring well for neither him nor the other animals who have not taken any part in his destructive activities.

All animals have been modified to adjust to his environment for the each other’s mutual benefit. When anyone of them goes out of proportion, then a catastrophe is bound to follow. This mutual check and balance has keep the earth in the part it was supposed to be from the time animals and other species came into existence until the humans species with analytical and rationality of thought began to experiment of his surround.

It was all well in the initial stages, but when his intelligence began to multiply on his initial triumphs, not only did his life become more complicated but a dramatic change took place to the planet. Change to the planet also alters the functioning of it, that it once used to. We as humans are also used to a path that earth goes about doing its business and so we build according to the environment. But then, the earth changes its habits, that we are not ready for. Who is to blame? Our intelligence.

Seven Million People are Killed by Pollution Each Year

people wearing mask due to pollutionAccording to a new report published by WHO (World Health Organization) on Tuesday, Seven million people are killed due to air pollution and half of them are from fumes from indoor stoves.

Out of eight people who die one of which is the result of air pollution said the agency and is now the single largest environmental health danger.

According to Frank Kelly, who is a director at King's College London, pollution is something very hard to avoid as we all have to breathe.

Tiny particles are able to get deep into the lungs and cause irritation which is the primary risk. Scientists also believe, it is one of the main culprits for inflammation in the heart, which leads to chronic problems or heart attacks.

4.3 million people died from indoor air pollution out of which mostly were from Asia as a result of using wood and coal stoves as according to WHO. In contrast to 3.7 million deaths from out door pollution in the year 2012 and nearly 90% was from those countries which are still developing.

Since many people are exposed to both indoor as well as outdoor pollution and their deaths can be an attribute of both areas, the agency has reduced the numbers from 8 million to 7 million. Anywhere the figures are double the previous figures and is based on modelling.

The reason for the increase in numbers is due to the fact that now the agency is better informed about the health effects of pollution with its improved detection systems. It was only last year that the cancer agency of WHO made air pollution as carcinogen. Linking dirty air to lungs and bladder cancer.

Women were more vulnerable than men to air pollution in developing countries as they are more indoors and breathing the polluted air and soot from the fire places according to Flavia Bustreo, the Director-General for family, women and children's health.

More research is need according to other experts to make out which was the most deadliest component of pollution so that measures can be put in place to control it.

Majid Ezzati says that they don't know as yet if dust from the Sahara is as bad diesel fuel or burning coal or vice verse.

As according to Kelly, it is mostly up to governments to erode away at pollution levels by legislations, removing power stations from cities and providing cheap alternatives for indoor wood and coal stoves.

He also goes on to say that one can reduce his exposure to pollution by not travelling during rush hours or taking smaller roads. There is no evidence that face masks work in heavily polluted cities and more over, mask send the wrong message out, that you pollute and we are able to protect ourselves with masks.

The Planet of Death

How ignoramus our intelligence as humans are! We are living on a planet of death that we have made for ourselves believing it else – we have made a bed of roses.

The earth that had taken million of years to evolve to sustain life, has nothing else but been degraded to the status of an embroiled planet make life not for the intelligent species intolerable but for the other species as well.

What the planet had toiled over in vast period of time has vanished in a blink of an eye. In the two or three hundred years humanity has done such irreversible change to the earth without thoroughly understanding the consequences of his doing, that coming back to what it once was, is a asking question.

We have many solutions to the ills that beckons the earth but no answers to it and hence we carry on in the old way of consuming more and more of her resources and not being able to give an ounce back.

We consume not what the planet has in store for us but consume what we has altered of her – this is something that she had not comprehended and no way to remedy, just leaving her to become more sickly and having a repercussion on us without us knowing.

We are not aware of the harm that we have done to her as we are busy with the toys that have made us affluent in the social order live. We have become prisoners of the artificial mirage we have created by our intelligence. We are blinded by it and do not want to fall from grace to the beginnings that we once live. We have no taste for the virtues of nature which the earth provide us with rather the artificial glamour and glitter that has bound us in it.

We have killed the planet and have tried to barricade ourselves within a bastion that is as weak as an egg shell that every time nature unleashes her terror, it cracks taking with it thousands of lives. But, yet we carry on in our new found good old ways just an opium addict that cannot mend his was knowing fully well the damage it is doing to its inner self.

Here the addiction are the cars, the mobile devices, the manufacturing ways to cater to the chain of never ending process of filling the consuming habits of modern man. He cares two hoots to know that there are other means to fulfil life as he has been brought up in it from an early childhood making him believe that that is the way to things only to continue on to a more catastrophic way of dealing with the earth. He thinks it is the natural way of life.

The modern man does not think that he is living on a dead planet which was started in a process as that is with what he had been born into. It is just a matter of time before the reality will strike all, when the earth will no longer have the means to carry on and will become an inferno where no means of intelligent survival is possible whether it would be hot or cold.

The earth has already gone into a reversal mode like the malignant mode of cancer that cannot be remedied by any means. It is a matter of time when reality will strike we intelligent humans.

A long way from home

It is always a feeling of nostalgia to be a long way from home. Away from the love and security of our loved ones. The feeling of wanting to taste home cook however simple it may be. To sleep on the hard bed how uncomfortable it may be. Our mind is on one thing that we got to accomplish whatever it is and head back home as soon as possible – for I miss home sweet home.

Each and everyone of us on this planet has got a place called which we miss tremendously when we are away from it but really take it for granted when are in the secure perimeters of it. We believe that we can do whatever we like with and it would as it always has.

Sadly, if that is the way we consider keeping our home, then it is bound to fall apart one day or another. Our homes are built around us with the love and appreciation that we put into them. That is why we ought not to love them only while we are away but also while we are in her arms. If we think the other way around that then our home just becomes another house.

Most humans actually do not appreciate the true value of what a home gives them. The same thing can be said about our planet the Earth which is home to all living things. It is a big home where we live with our little homes. The appreciation which is shown to our homes is the accumulative appreciation shown to our big home the Earth.

We as human with our activities are doing thing that are detrimental to this home Earth. We have already deface a large portion of her with our activities in terms of deforestation and mining. We have polluted the air where we have increased the overall temperature of the earth giving to terms such as global warming which is having a negative impact on many fronts.

We have with our habits destroyed large sections of species who share our home with us and are vital for our sustenance. We have done all this so as to make our small homes better and that we can live more luxurious lives.

In the bargain of living this kind of live we have destroyed the bigger home by dismantling parts by parts of her thinking that she can bear the blunt of what we do to her. We ought to remember that she can come crashing down on us at any moment and with it take away our small little homes.

To have respect of our our small homes we first have to have respect for our larger home the Earth without which our homes are insignificant to us.
