A Glass with No Bottom

A Glass with No Bottom

Have you ever imagined if a glass was without a bottom? Yet, in the figurative sense, many people in this world are just like a glass without a bottom
If a glass had no bottom it would be able to hold liquid and then it would not actually be a glass in the true sense. On the other hand if we refer to a person who is like a glass with no bottom, then we tend to mean that when any inform that may be given to him to store, is actually not stored within his senses and it just passes him on the way out. It simply drops like a hole which is made at the bottom.
In fact people tend to have this phenomena when that particular thing is of no interest to them. It is obvious that they may pay heed but without the ears of interest. This will make you believe that they have fully understand what you intend for them to do.
To understand this, is better with an analogy. A teacher is teacher is teaching in a class, but Tom who may be staring with all ears open, Gives the teacher the impression that Tom is listening to every word of hers. In fact, Tom's mind is a thousand miles away on the football match that he would be watching on television. His mind would be in vicarious animation of the probable scenes of action.
When the teacher had finished her explanation and wants to show her class and example of how concentration works, she picks Tom to answer a question on what she had just explained to them. What would you expect Tom's answer to be? Tom in the first place would have hesitation saying anything and would fumble with words. If when he eventually summons up the courage to give an answer, he would give any answer which may come to mind so as to get him out of trouble. But, whatever the answer may be, it will be far from the expected answer.
It would be obviously a shock for the teacher as she would be expecting to show the merits of her teaching skills. She has just found the true metaphoric example of what a glass without a bottom can do to you.
How would you actually encounter this phenomena in people? Simple most of what you expect to be exciting will in most cases not be the same for others. So the idea that you want another to keep in mind should be exciting. Usually people keep a mental record of things if it is exciting. Unless, something is mentally wrong with them.
So plan how would you make something exciting even before you want someone to keep a mental record of it. Then only will they not act like a glass with no bottom.
